Motivation (reclaim local cultures)
Another pillar of the Pachamama Raymi methodology is the use of contests, of competitions, to encourage the population to implement substantial improvements in living standards and environmental reclamation within a very short time.
Motivation and participation of most families, is achieved through repetitive contests in a context of solidarity. These contests have explicit rules and a system of frequent and detailed evaluation of the participants and of the changes they achieved.
The competitions usually last about 6 months. At the end of each competition, winners are rewarded with attractive amounts of cash, for families and communities. The winners have applied a series of innovations that are critical in eliminating extreme rural poverty.
Encourage local cultural expressions is another key element of motivation.. This can be accomplished by inserting the project into the local culture(s). This empowers and strengthening people's dignity and self-esteem. |
