Projects being prepared
There many villages with extremely poor people. So we are always trying to include them into our programme, innovating to make our interventions cheaper and more effective, and preparing new projects, capable of solving social, economic and environmental problems.
Some of the projects being prepared are:
“Rotary Raymi”
A partnership between eight Rotary clubs in Poland and the Inka Cusco Rotary Club aims to implement a Pachamama Raymi project in four communities Lares District, Province of Calca in Cusco: Hualla, Suyo, Umapata, and Sauqui. Also, Jan Oleksy, one of our Millennium Champs, has achieved funding commitments from these Rotary Clubs of about USD 11 500, for a project of about USD 47 000.
Turismo Responsable
With the support of one of our volunteer/students, Pachamama Raymi has prepared a project document for the coordination and implementation of tourism activities in the district of Ocongate, in collaboration with ISUR, CCAIJO, and the municipality of Ocongate. The project aims at rural community tourism, including its dimensions of experiential tourism, agro-tourism, and ecotourism.
Entre Pisco y Nazca
It appears that the impact of El Niño, which is one of the worst natural disasters that regularly affecting Peru, is aggravated by deforestation and soil degradation, particularly in the mountain area near the peruvian coast, from 800 to 2000 meter above sea level. Managed reforestation would provide new options for life and business, reclaiming soil cover in this area. This will improve infiltration of rainwater, and recharge the aquifers. The dry and bare hilles can once again become productive.
The economies of the people living in this area can be greatly improved by such actions.
