reclamation of natural and environmental resources.
Many projects using the Pachamama Raymi methodology in rural area include such issues as house improvements, encouraging new businesses, improving pastures and rangeland management, promoting animal husbandry, reforestation and preventive health.
Several issues are mutually reinforcing. For example, improving housing and the introduction of improved stoves, improves health by removing smoke from the house. It contributes to the reduction of CO2 by the lowering fuel consumption, further reducing deforestation.
Reforestation is the opportunity not only to stabilize mountain slopes, reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and improving infiltration of water into the soil, but it also provides business opportunities for the community, selling wood in the medium term, or products.
Improving animal husbandry improves family nutrition, and increases the quality and quantity of manure, to be used as fertilizer and natural biocides for crop improvement, and to produce biogas ... |
