The Pachamama Raymi methodology has shown to be able to break the
vicious circle of environmental degradation and rural poverty by
introducing sustainable management of natural resources, within 3 to 4
years. This is accomplished through peer learning, in combination with
motivating people to participate in contests and rewarding them for
achieving great results in a number of innovations that are being
promoted.
The NGO Pachamama Raymi designs and implements projects and shares its
experience with government programs, NGOs, and all kinds of
development initiatives.
Why Pachamama Raymi? Raymi, fiesta refers to the joy of learning,
while Pachamama refers to the cultural and environmental dimensions
of development. The name also invokes a higher meaning: the care for
Mother Earth. The projects are a fiesta of learning and sharing
knowledge and know-how. In the Andean region, each cycle usually
starts with a ?despacho? a ritual of profound meaning and importance
in the Andean communities, until today. |
